It is crucial for shipping companies to make strategic decision to optimize and reduce their fuel oil consumption (FO) and therefore to decrease their CO2 emissions to be compliant with international regulations. ·         The normalized fuel consumption rate of the vessel with respect to the fuel that is used
·         Information about the correlation between the fuel consumption and the vessel speed
·         Information about the correlation between the fuel consumption and the power delivered to the propeller 
·         The comparison with reference lines such as the charterer’s agreement or the sea trial
